Belay Certification Class
Instructor — The Knot Staff
This class is open to members and guests of members and may have up to 4 students.
You must be 13 or older to take this class.
Belay classes are free to members and $25 for guests of members. Guests must be accompanied by a member and will need to use a member guest pass to take this class. Either a free guest pass or a $10 guest pass may be used.
Once you’ve checked out our bouldering area, the belay class is a great way to expand your horizons upwards! This class lasts two hours. In the first half of the class, you will receive instruction in knot tying, belay device set up, and belay technique. Once you have the basics down, you will need a climber. This person can take the class with you or just tag along to climb. In the second half of the class, you will have the opportunity to climb with your partner while still having access to your belay instructor. They will be with you to answer any questions that may come up while you climb.
You must make arrangements with a climbing partner prior to the class. The Knot can not make these arrangements for you. You must have a climber to take the class!
Please arrive 15 minutes early so that you can get checked in and ready to climb.

Yoga
FLOW
Instructor — Grace P.
This is a vinyasa SLOW flow class. The intensity builds throughout unique and creative sequences, but the pace doesn't quicken-- just like your favorite boulder problem. We believe that strong, intentional breath through long holds in challenging postures helps cultivate a mental grit that transfers really well to climbing.

INVERSION CONDITIONING
Instructor — Vern C.
This class is offered every other Sunday. This is a class intentionally designed to help you get upside down! Expect to focus on building functional core strength and practicing drills that condition you to invert, whether that eventually leads to floating up into a handstand or not. This class is also excellent cross training for climbers that builds "pushing" shoulder strength to balance all the "pulling" we love to do on the wall.
